Genmaicha
Genmaicha
A traditional Japanese blend, Genmaicha is a mix of delicate Sencha green tea and roasted rice grains. It is said that this tea originated when some Buddhist monks added green tea to browned rice stuck to the bottom of their rice cauldron as a means for conservation. Later, Genmaicha was perfected by blending Sencha with roasted rice. Silver Needle Tea Co's Genmaicha is superior because it's made with Sencha from a tea estate in Wazuka, Japan, in southern Kyoto, that has cultivated traditional Japanese tea for centuries. A beautiful yellow when steeped, our Genmaicha is mildly astringent, fragrant and soothing.
